Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 24, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how KaraLocal collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who we are

KaraLocal is a community platform for the karaoke community, operated by Mike The Mic Party Services out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. When we say “KaraLocal,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean the platform and its operators.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide
  • Launch Host signup: Email address, stage name (display name), and city/area.
  • Host profile: Bio, booking link, Facebook URL, Instagram URL, and photo URL (all optional).
  • Event listings: Event name, venue name, venue address, city, day of week, time, recurrence type, notes, and status.
  • Contact form: Name, email, and message content when you reach out through the Contact page.
  • Investor interest form: Name, email, interest tier, and optional notes.
  • Claim requests: Your host ID, email, name, and the event you are claiming.
Information collected automatically
  • Local storage: KaraLocal uses browser local storage to keep you signed in to the Host Dashboard. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
  • Server logs: Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. These are used for security and debugging only.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • • Operate and maintain the KaraLocal platform
  • • Display your public host profile and event listings on the schedule
  • • Contact you about your account, approval status, or platform updates
  • • Respond to messages submitted through the Contact page
  • • Process investor interest form submissions
  • • Review and process claim requests for event listings
  • • Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use
  • • Improve the platform based on usage patterns

5. Data storage and security

Host profiles, event listings, and claim requests are stored securely using Supabase, a hosted database service with encryption at rest and in transit.

Contact form and investor interest submissions are processed through a secure lead capture endpoint and delivered to the KaraLocal team.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique email and to avoid sharing sensitive information through the platform.

6. Cookies and tracking

KaraLocal does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools. We use browser local storage solely to maintain your Host Dashboard session. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

7. Third-party services

KaraLocal uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase: Database hosting for host profiles, events, and claim requests.
  • Google Calendar: Optional “Add to Google Calendar” links on event pages (no data is sent to Google unless you click the link).
  • Facebook: Optional “Share on Facebook” links (no data is sent to Facebook unless you click the link).
  • Google Maps: Optional “Open in Maps” links for venue addresses.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share information only in the following cases: (a) with your consent; (b) to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request; (c) to protect the rights, safety, or property of KaraLocal, our users, or the public; or (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case you would be notified).

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through your Host Dashboard or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a standard format.

10. Children's privacy

KaraLocal is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request account deletion, we will remove your profile, event listings, and associated data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period for security and legal compliance purposes.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of KaraLocal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
